School Leadership

Dr. Shawn Hinkle is a dedicated leader with over 22 years of experience in Fort Smith Public Schools. A product of the district himself, Dr. Hinkle attended Sutton Elementary, Kimmons Middle, and graduated from Northside High School in 1995. His deep connection to the community and commitment to education are reflected throughout his career.

Before becoming principal, Dr. Hinkle served as assistant principal at Darby Middle School starting in 2016. He previously held several key roles at Kimmons, including math department chair, geometry and Pre-AP Algebra teacher, and head basketball coach. His academic credentials include a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, a Master’s in Educational Leadership, and a Bachelor of Science in Math Education, all earned at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas.

Dr. Hinkle is also a respected community leader, having been a member of the Leadership Fort Smith Class of 2022 and serving on the Board of Directors at St. James Missionary Baptist Church.
